When I am talking to patients or groups of people at workshops I often hear, "Eating healthy is too expensive!" Well, today I wanted to share with you 3 tips on how to save money at the grocery store so you can still stay on budget and eat healthy. 1. Buy protein (meats) in bulk -- watch for a sale on organic chicken or grass-fed beef and buy extra to keep on hand in the freezer.2. Buy produce that is in season -- it will be more affordable because its being grown right now. 3. Dirty Dozen -- you don't have to buy every produce item organic, check out ewg.org for the dirty dozen list and only purchase those items organic and buy the rest conventionally grown. These 3 tips should get you started on the path to eating healthier on a budget. Sign up for our next workshop to learn more about getting healthy from the inside out.
