The Venice Pier, built-in 1925 by Henry Flagler is the main attraction at Venice Beach. The pier features an inexpensive arcade, food stands, and of course, plenty of fishing opportunities for visitors.
The Venice Cupola at Town Hall was built in 1887 by two brothers who had emigrated from Holland. At that time, it was located atop one of the new buildings on Main Street. In 1973, the cupola was relocated to the Town Hall site and restored.
Today, visitors can enjoy beautiful sunset views from Snook Haven. Snook Haven is a freshwater fishing retreat on the North Fork of the New River in Osprey. The covered deck provides panoramic views of the water and mangroves along Venice Island. Visitors can also cool off by taking a dip in the swimming pool.
Beachgoers enjoy an early morning stroll on Venice Beach. In addition to offering plenty of space for outdoor recreation, there are also concessions available at Venice Beach during the summer months.
In the winter, you'll want to bundle up and take a trip to Ellenton Outlet Mall. There you can expect to find the lowest prices around on a wide range of merchandise from some of the nation's best-known brand names.
The South County Regional Library is home to more than 50,000 books and DVDs.
The library also has computers for public use and wireless internet access.
The Olde Fish House Restaurant, which has been serving up fresh seafood since 1917.
The Florida Birding Trail at Cape Haze Pioneer Trailhead Park is a great place for birdwatchers. In addition to spotting some of the 300 species of birds who visit the park, visitors can also enjoy biking trails and a naturalist on hand to answer questions.
