The Venice Pier, which was constructed in 1925 by Henry Flagler, is the main highlight of Venice Beach. The pier has an inexpensive arcade, food stalls, and various fishing prospects for tourists.
The two Dutch brothers who created the Venice Cupola at Town Hall in 1887 emigrated from Holland. It was situated on top of one of the new structures on Main Street at that time. The Cupola was relocated to its present location and restored in 1973.
Visitors can enjoy beautiful sunset views from Snook Haven. The freshwater fishing retreat on the North Fork of New River in Osprey provides panoramic views of water and mangroves along Venice Island, where visitors can cool off by taking a dip in its swimming pool!
Beachgoers flock to Venice Beach early in the morning for an outdoor stroll. During the summer months, there are concessions at Venice Beach to provide additional areas for outside activity.
During the winter, you'll want to dress warm and go to the Ellenton Outlet Mall. There, you can expect to find the lowest costs on a wide range of goods from some of the nation's best-known brand names.
The South County Regional Library has more than 50,000 volumes and DVDs. Public computers are available, as well as wireless internet access.
Since its inception in 1917, The Olde Fish House Restaurant has been serving fresh seafood.
The Florida Birding Trail at Cape Haze Pioneer Trailhead Park is a great place to spot some of the 300 species that visit this park. Visitors can also enjoy biking trails and an environmental expert on hand for questions!
If you enjoy art, head to Art Galleries Downtown, where you'll discover more than 100 artists' studios. Several art galleries represent the work of both local and overseas artists.
